Debating

For the past month or so I have been debating whether or not to cut Quentin's hair. Chance is completely against it, but my thinking is that since it's getting less humid his curls aren't as tight and his hair eventually will be in his eyes. As of right now it doesn't seem to bother him. The only thing I'm worried about is that once I cut his hair, his beautiful curls that I love so much won't grow back. I've heard stories from a couple people that it happened to. I'm sure most of my family would tell me to go for it, but I'm still hesitant. Plus, I still need to butter Chance up to the idea.

Halloween

A little late but here's a couple pictures from Halloween. We had a busy day and Quentin didn't get to take his naps, so by the time we headed trick or treating he was exhausted! He just sat in his stroller the whole time plus it was really hot and still pretty humid so he was sweating so bad in his costume, needless to say we weren't out very long. I think next year we will definitely choose a costume that isn't so heavy for him.

Update

I know it really has been too long since I've done a post, but here's a little recap of what's been happening. We finally sold all 8 of the puppies. They were so cute before they all left, but I was extremely happy that they all sold. Chance's job has been going well for him and so far they aren't feeling any effects of this crappy economy...hopefully it stays that way. I only have 3 weeks left of school and I am excited and ready to be done and working again (I never thought I would say I was excited to be working). Quentin is getting to be so much fun for us! He's such a happy little boy and I can't believe he's almost 1. He started walking about a month ago and now he cruises along. His first official word, besides Dada and Mama, was puppy (Hmm, who can guess why that was). Well that's a pretty brief overview of our lives, but at least it's a little something.

Puppy Update & Weekend fun

Well the puppies are 3 weeks old now and they have already changed so much. They all now have their eyes open and are starting to be a lot more mobile. It's pretty fun when you walk in the room and they're all crawling all over each other, then you say something and they look at you. Then when I put my hands in their cage they all come over to get turns at being pet and loved on. Now, with them growing they're also finding their vocal cords, it's hilarious to hear them growl and make all of their little noises. We've been pretty lucky, because they aren't too noisy at night (yet). I think I get a new favorite one every day, but as of right now it's one of the three boys, he's white with light brown spots, he's adorable!
My favorite...as of right now.

This last weekend was a ton of fun, because we actually got out and did something. The weather was amazing, 82 degrees and sunny! Sunday we went to the Florida Strawberry Festival, it's just like a big fair. We walked around and looked at all the vendors booths, had yummy strawberry shortcake, then tried to decide what deep fried thing we were going to eat (they literally had anything you could think of available deep fried, oh, and they even had chocolate dipped bacon!), I decided on an onion blossom and Chance had a corn dog that was a mile long! After about four hours and Quentin not having a nap, we decided to call it a day.

Monday we got to go deep sea fishing with Jim and Julie (Chance's Dad and his wife). This was the third attempt at going, because the first two times had to be cancelled, due to poor weather. The saying 'third times a charm' proved to be true for us. The weather was amazing again (84 degrees) and the water was literally like glass. Now, we're talking about the ocean here and for it to be like that, we were very lucky! There were a couple people on our boat that said they usually get sea sick, but this was the first time that they didn't. Now, I have to say in the morning I was thinking it might be a little boring because it was like an old folks convention on the boat or something, seriously, everyone on the boat had me and Chance by at least 30 years. It turned out to be a blast! I seriously will do it again in a heart beat! We not only got a killer deal, but the crew on the 'Miss Virginia' were awesome! I caught way more fish than Chance did and I have to say, it feels pretty good to brag about that. Although, it doesn't have anything to do with skill, but we'll pretend. We let Jim and Julie keep all the fish we caught, because we're not big seafood eaters. After Jim got home he battered some of the fish (they're called Grunt) and fried them. I tried some and I have to say it was pretty tasty!
My first catch, Chance didn't have the camera out in time to get a pic before we had the hook out of its mouth

Visitors

We had my parents come visit us last weekend and it was so much fun! We went to Kennedy Space Center one day then the next day we were going to do something else fun, but Lola had her puppies! Yep, she had them right on schedule. She had a total of 14 puppies! Unfortunately 5 were dead right when they were born and one more passed two days ago because it had a bad heart. Even still, we have 8 puppies left in our house. They are adorable already! I was a little surprised that all of them got Dozer's coloring, not one came out looking like Lola. As for the rest of my parents visit, I took them to the beach the next day. It appeared to be a great beach day, but once we got there the wind was blowing and it was too cold to just lay out. We walked around a little bit, then headed back home. It was so nice having them here and would love for anyone else to come visit!!!

All over

Well, I can't believe the Holidays are over! It was kind of strange not having snow on Christmas, but I'm definitely not complaining! I had a week and a half off school, which was a much needed break, and very nice to spend at home relaxing. We had Chance's Dad and his wife Julie at our house for Christmas, and it was really nice to spend the Holiday with some family! On Christmas Eve I made Grandma's cheese soup and Malibu Chicken, not to toot my own horn, but toot toot! I think they both turned out very well! On Christmas morning we woke up and Chance and I decided to keep all our gifts low key this year and of course Quentin didn't really care about presents, so we got him what he needed...a highchair and some clothes. That evening, we made a Ham (we're still eating leftovers) and cheesy potatoes, yum! Then, on Saturday we drove to the beach and it was a beautiful day lounging around, Quentin loved playing (actually not playing, I mean eating) the sand!

Last night for New Year's Eve we wanted to keep it low key and be able to hangout with Quentin, so we went to one of our friend's house. They cooked a delicious steak dinner and we watched the ball drop. We had tons of fun and lots of laughs! Here's a few pics of the last week...
